Storming the Hill for Private Property Rights in Washington DC

Representing the Atlanta REALTORS Association, as the 2018 Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman, I, along with over 9,000 Realtors from across the country recently gathered in Washington, DC for the 2018 REALTORS Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo. This meeting gives Realtors the opportunity to hear from industry leaders, exchange ideas and best practices, but more importantly to discuss pressing issues with members of Congress and key administrative offices.

Our delegation of local members met with Georgia's members of Congress and both U.S. Senators. Issues that were discussed on Capitol Hill included renewing the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), supporting strong net neutrality protections, addressing new tax law problems and assuring equal access to housing opportunities.

It was my privilege and honor to attend this meeting on my clients’ behalf to pursue private property right protections for all. One of the reasons the REALTOR Party is such a strong legislative force in this country is because there is a constituent in every municipality at the local, state and national level and I am proud to represent those concerns to our elected officials.
